Caregiver Support Program

This is a free State-wide service available to family members who care for an EIM consumer who has a diagnosis of dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. The focus is on the Caregiver. Caregivers are provided up to date information, education, referrals and supportive services. This program can make a big difference in how caregivers cope with stress in their lives. Please contact your Care Manager or call your local EIM office for information on how to participate in this program carried out at your local Area Agency on Aging.

Some comments from past and present Caregivers about the program:

“It has helped tremendously having someone to talk about the tough times.”

“She showed us how to laugh and have fun when the world had looked so bleak before.”
“ I am managing my stress better. I had no idea how much this was affecting me.”
“ I look forward to her visits and calls. It’s nice to have someone ask me how I am.”
“We met out for coffee and even getting out a short while helped lift my spirits.”
“The tips and education enabled us to keep Dad in his own home safely.”
